Martha J. “Marty” Bresher, age 72, of Eaton, OH, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at the Maple Gardens Nursing Center in Eaton after battling a long term illness. She was born on January 14, 1952 in Richmond, IN to the late Chuck and Cledith Bresher and grew up in Dixon Township. She was a 1970 graduate of Eaton High School, where she was the first female to join the FFA; and was active in 4-H. She started her career working for the Preble County Engineer's Office and later retired from the Preble County Building and Zoning Department as the building and zoning inspector for over 30 years. She served on the Preble Senior Fair Board, volunteered at the Preble County Pork Festival for many years, and was Past President of the Preble County Historical Society for 15 years. She supported her children and grandchildren through 4-H and FFA, and rarely missed a year at the fair. She is survived by her sister Rebecca Koontz of Eaton; son Scott Bresher (Summer Irwin) of Eaton; daughter Sarah Wallen of Eaton; grandchildren Jessica North of Columbus, Jackie Wallen (Cody Mitchell) of Norwalk, Abbie Wiggs of Eaton, Hannah Wiggs of Eaton, Gracie Bresher of Eaton, Erica Wallen of Eaton, Autumn Irwin of Lewisburg; great grandchildren Jasmine and Carter Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Angie Overholts officiating. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm also at the funeral home.
