Marvin E. Gilley, age 83, of West Manchester, OH, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. He was born August 14, 1931 in Middletown, OH. Marvin was a dedicated family man and loyal friend to many, who served his community as a volunteer firefighter for many years and village councilman. He was a member of the West Manchester Lions Club; and the Libanus Masonic Lodge #80 of Lewisburg. He was a painting contractor for 48 years, retiring in 2000. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his father Algan Gilley; mother and stepfather Mable (Elkins) and David Lehman; and his wife of 48 years, Elnora Frostie Gilley, who passed away in 2005. He is survived by daughters Rhonda (Scott) Davidson of Columbus, IN and Brenda Gilley of Gardena, CA; grandchildren John Craig (Amber) Turner, Kyleigh (Bronwyn) Perkins, Erin (John) Davidson Redick and Whitney (Broc) Davidson Burton; 9 great grandchildren; sisters Elizabeth (Otis) Sailor, Ada Hill and Bonnie (Dale) Mowen Cole; brother Robert (Betty) Gilley; sister-in-law Diana Jo Schiml; brother-in-law James Frost; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main St., Eaton, OH with Pastor Terry Campbell officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 4 8 pm and one hour prior to services on Thursday all at the funeral home.
