Mary Jane Anson, age 89, of Eaton, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the Greenbriar Nursing Facility. Jane, as most people knew her, was born in Preble County on July 12, 1922, to Samuel and Pearl Welsh. Jane graduated from Eaton High School in 1940 and from the Dayton School of Business in 1942. Jane served as the Clerk of the Eaton Municipal Court from 1971 until her retirement in 1986. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Methodist Church, a past member of the Eaton County Club, a member of the Omicron Sigma Sorority for 72 years, and was still active with the Public Employees Retirement System. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Merle, sisters Iris Jones and Mildred Schlechty, brothers Cecil Welsh and William Welsh, and a daughter, Julianne Roberts. She is survived by daughters, Becky (Russ) Mann of Eaton, and Amy (David) Ryan of Columbus, Ohio, and a son, Thomas (Maria) Anson of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren Dr. Brian (Nicole) Schmidt, Pensacola, FL, Brad (Jennifer) Schmidt, Beavercreek, OH, Jack and Matthew Ryan, Columbus, OH, and Eric Johnson, Vancouver, WA; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 10:00 am until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 120 North Maple Street, Eaton, OH. Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, OH is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul Methodist Church.
