Mary Lou Hakes, aged 87, of Eaton, OH, departed this world on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, to be reunited with the Lord. She was born on July 14, 1936, in Eaton, the beloved daughter of Chelsea Swartz and Mary Viola (Heckman) Rodeffer, both of whom she joins in eternal rest.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Hakes, and her dear brothers, Chelsea Abraham Rodeffer and Ronald Eugene Rodeffer. Her passing leaves a void in our hearts, but her memory will forever shine brightly.
Mary Lou’s legacy of love and family endures through her children, Andy, Randy, Lora, Joe, and their respective spouses. She was not only a mother but a source of unwavering support and strength. Mary Lou’s love and commitment to family will continue to guide her family through life's journey.
She is also survived by her brothers, Paul Edward Rodeffer and Samuel Allan Rodeffer, and her sister, Nancy Louise Replogle. Mary's love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of countless others, including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who held her close to their hearts.
