Neil Edwin Wick, age 45 of West Alexandria and Fairfield, Ohio passed away on January 27, 2025 after a long and courageous fight of complications from a stroke in October 2021. Born on February 17, 1979 in Dayton, Ohio; Neil was the beloved oldest son of Linda McCoy Wick and James Wick of West Alexandria, Ohio.
Neil was larger than life and loved big. He cherished his family, especially his son Joseph “Jay” Edwin Wick. He was a loving son, brother, grandson, cousin, husband, and friend. His generosity and kindness of spirit touched everyone he met. Neil would do anything to help a friend. Always ready with a joke and a laugh, his smile will live on in the hearts of so many.
Neil played every sport available to him and was a big fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, Cincinnati Reds, and University of Michigan Wolverines, watching every game in every sport he could. He achieved many accolades growing up playing baseball, basketball, and football for his local teams.
Neil loved his job and coworkers over the years at GM, Red Lobster in Cincinnati, Dayton & Louisville, and lastly at Sun Chemical. The bond he forged always made strangers into friends. At the time of his stroke, Neil was just 6 weeks from completing a bachelor’s degree at Miami University, for which he had worked so hard. He will forever be an example to all in working hard and playing hard no matter the circumstance.
Neil is survived by his parents, Jim and Linda Wick, his son, Jay Wick and his mother Erika Wick and grandmother Laurie Werner. He is survived by his brother Kyle (Sarah) Wick and his niece and nephew Zoey and Easton Wick. Neil is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved deeply.

Neil loved his family and being with people, sharing stories. The family will be having a celebration of life at the American Legion James E. Ryan Post 322 in West Alexandria on February 8, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm. Private graveside services will be held later at the family’s discretion.
Neil's warmth, generosity, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him. We’d be remiss if we didn’t add “Go Blue!”.
