Norma Jean Kemp, age 87, of Eaton, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Vancrest of Eaton Health Care Center. She was born May 3, 1930 in Preble County to the late Emerson and Helen (Meeks) Bishop. She was a 1948 graduate of Eaton High School; was a lifelong member of New Hope United Methodist Church, where she played the piano and organ and was the former choir director. She worked at Henny Penny for 17 years and later retired from the Frigidaire Company in Dayton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband Lloyd “Gus” Matheny; second husband Norman M. Kemp; and son-in-law Tom Busick. She is survived by her son Mike (Donna) Matheny of Morgantown, WV; daughter Connie Busick of Indianapolis, IN; daughter Kim Cole (and special family friend Janet Gordon) of Miamisburg, OH; brother Gerald “Jerry” (Judy) Bishop of Eaton; sister Joyce Moore of Eaton; 6 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from 11:00 to 1:00 pm at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 pm on Saturday at the New Hope United Methodist Church, 5367 U.S. 35 West, Eaton, OH with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating.
