Norman M. “Norm” Kemp, age 76, of Eaton, OH, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton after a courageous battle against Lung Cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. He was born February 28, 1936 in Montgomery County, OH to the late Frank and Thelma (Dillon) Kemp. Norm was employed at NCR in Dayton for 15 years; and he attended the New Hope United Methodist Church. For many years Norm bought and sold antiques and furniture. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Jan Kemp; and niece and her husband Sharon and Ron Thornton. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Norma Jean Kemp of Eaton, OH; son Mike (Donna) Matheny of Morgantown, WV; daughter Connie (Tom) Busick of Indianapolis, IN; daughter Kim Cole (and special family friend Janet Gordon) of Miamisburg, OH; daughter Debbie (Kent) Sotzing of Troy, OH; son Sam Kemp of New Paris, OH; son Steve Kemp of Lewisburg, OH; son Ed (Monica) Kemp of Brookville, OH; sister Doris Stivers of Xenia, OH; numerous grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Friends will be received from 11:00 am until time of funeral Services at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Brady Feltz officiating. Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420 for the wonderful care they gave him.
