Norman Regan Kramer, a beloved husband, father, grandfather died Sunday, March 2, 2025, in Zephyrhills, Florida at the age of 75. Born on December 11, 1949 in Richmond, Indiana, he was the son of the late Lloyd G. and Odessa H. (Holtzclaw) Kramer and grew up in Eaton, Ohio, Preble County. Following his graduation from Eaton High School in 1967, he served in the United States Army as a member of a transportation unit. After his time in the military, he returned home and began a career in agriculture spanning over four decades, farming land in and around Preble County until his retirement in 2013. He was an active member of the Eaton United Church of Christ serving in various roles most recently as church moderator. As a young boy, he developed a passion for antique farm equipment, specifically steam powered equipment. Into adulthood, he continued a family tradition of collecting and restoring steam engines, farm tractors, farm equipment, and many other antique collectables. He was well-known in the steam engine community and participated in steam shows in Ohio and the Midwest. In retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Aleis, throughout the states and to various foreign countries, like Australia and Brazil, not only to sightsee but to learn about international farming operations and practices.
Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Aleis R. Kramer: Sons and daughters-in-law: Anthony & Robyn Kramer of Appling, Georgia, Kevin & the late Erin Kramer of Westlake, Ohio, Tony Emrick of Morning View, Kentucky, and Cliff & Teah Emrick of Eaton, Ohio. Brothers & Sister-in-laws: Gary & Melinda Kramer of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Jerold & Kim Kramer of Richmond, Indiana, and Leslie & Sarah Kramer of Stanwood, Washington. Grandchildren: Ryann, Brooks, Carson, Dawson, Collin, Chandler, Madyson, Makenzie, Tucker, and Anthony. Great Grandchildren: Whenley, Quinton, Jameson, and Serenity. Numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for the family to receive friends will be held on Friday, March 14th at 10:00 a.m-12:00 p.m. at the Eaton United Church of Christ - 113 West Decatur Street - Eaton, Ohio with a funeral service to follow. Pastor Joe Hodapp will be officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery - Eaton, Ohio. Arrangements entrusted to Gard Funeral Home - 226 West Main Street- Eaton, Ohio.
