Paul F. Newman

Paul F. Newman, age 68 of Eaton, Ohio, passed away after a brief illness on September 23, 2021.  Born November 18, 1952, he was the son of the late James R. Newman and the late Eleanor Keiser-Tucker.  After graduating from Goshen High School, Paul served seven years in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division.  After discharge, Paul made his home in Eaton Ohio.  Paul was an employee of the Eaton police department for 36 years where he was instrumental in updating the records department to automated public safety systems.  Paul loved his cats “Shadow” and “LG”, and he was a loving son, brother, and uncle to his family.  Paul was a devoted Christian and former member of the West Alexandria Church of the Brethren.  In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his niece Krista Velde Tibbs.  He is survived by his stepmother Patricia Newman, Springfield, OH, sisters Rita (Jerry) Newman-Beaird, Trinity, Texas, Tina Newman, Middletown, OH, Teresa (Greg) Rose, and brothers Daniel (Patty) Newman, Hamiliton, OH, and Edward (Alicia) Newman, Troy, OH, and eleven nieces and nephews.  Friends and family will be received on Friday, October 1st, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., Eaton, OH.  A graveside service will follow at 12:30 pm at Twin Creek Cemetery in West Manchester, OH with military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard and US Army.  Memorial contributions may be sent to the Humane Society of Preble County or Reasons to Believe at www.reasons.org.
