Ralph D. Kreitzer, age 85, of Eaton, OH passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Vancrest Nursing Center, Eaton, OH. He was born September 16, 1929 in Dayton, OH to the late William E. and Rose M. (Bissanty) Kreitzer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Edward Kreitzer and his sister Sylvia (Raymond) Kitcelman. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Joan Garrett Kreitzer of Eaton, OH; his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Andrew Kreitzer and Elizabeth (Vogt) Kreitzer and his grandaughter, Anna Kreitzer all of Ellsworth, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. Ralph was a 1948 graduate of Eaton High School; he was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953 in the 11th Airborne Division, 76th Tank Battalion and was credited with 16 jumps. He worked for the Parker-Hannifin Corp. in Eaton and Lewisburg for 40 years. He was a member of the Eaton United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 215. Ralph was an avid golfer and a member of the Eaton Country Club for over 50 years He enjoyed jazz music and shared his love of music with many friends and relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 from 11:00 am until time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at the Eaton United Methodist Church (formerly St. Paul United Methodist Church), 120 North Maple Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Chris Farmer officiating and military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, OH. Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.
