Richard E. Klinger

Richard E. Klinger, age 88, of West Manchester, OH, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Heartland of Greenville. He was born January 12, 1924 in West Alexandria, OH to the late Alva and Susan (Hollenbaugh) Klinger. He was retired from General Motors after 28 years of employment; was a member of the Preble County Harness Horseman’s Association; he enjoyed attending local fairs and horse races; and was an avid hunter and camper. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife Norma Klinger, who passed away October 19, 1997; infant son Dickey Eugene Klinger; son William Klinger; daughter-in-law Alice Klinger; son-in-law Rick Hall; brother Frank Klinger; and sister Phyllis Hoke. He is survived by his daughter Sue Hall of Lewisburg, OH; son Robert (Wanda) Klinger of Lewisburg, OH; son Ronnie (Peggy) Klinger of West Manchester, OH; daughter Marie (Jim) Wilson of Eaton, OH; daughter Kathy (Forrest) Leyes of West Manchester, OH; sister Marilyn Hudgel of Eaton, OH; daughter-in-law Janet Klinger of Eaton, OH; sister-in-law Barbara Klinger of West Alexandria, OH; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Justin Wiegand officiating. Burial will follow in Wares Chapel Cemetery, West Manchester, OH. Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
