It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Richard "Rick" Barklow Laycock. Rick was taken from us suddenly on September 17, 2024 at the age of 59. Rick was a native to Eaton, Ohio.
Rick was a hardworking, kind, and generous family man. He would do anything to help anyone if he could without any expectations of anything in return. He loved spending time with his family. He raised his kids to enjoy the things he enjoyed like scrapping, working on things, the famous route 40- and 127-yard sales and most of all derbying. The times you would see Rick smiling and laughing the most was when he was working on derby cars in the garage with his kids.
Preceded in death by his father Alan B. Laycock.
Rick was survived by the love of his life Pennie. Rick and Pennie spent more than two decades building their life together. They have countless memories that will be cherished forever. Also survived by his daughters Courtney N. Laycock, Katie I. Laycock, and Jackie (Drew) Jackson. His sons Donovan R. Frazee, Dylan S. Frazee, Ricky (Lacey) Laycock, CJ (Danielle) Laycock. His sister Annie (Scott) Walter and mother Dorothy Laycock and numerous grandchildren.
The family would like to make a special mention to his numerous best friends, derby family and Parker family.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Fort St. Clair Park Cabin #2, 135 Camden Road, Eaton, OH. Please dress casual as Rick would have wanted. Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Eaton is assisting with arrangements.
