Richard E. Via

Celebrating the life of Richard “Dick” Via, age 87, of Eaton, OH, who passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. He was born March 3, 1931 in Pyrmont, OH to the late Groft O. and Hester (Richards) Via. He was a member of the Eaton Church of the Brethren, Eaton, OH and the Southern Ohio Brethren Disaster Ministries. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Jim Via; great grandson Jacob Allen Deacon; and grandson Shaun A. Williams. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Patricia “Pat” (Smith) Via; son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Charlene Via; daughter and son-in-law Cris “Sammy” and Phil Deacon; grandchildren: Amber Williams, Bryan (Kelley) Deacon, Brianne (Brandon) Davidson, Joshua (Tosh) Via, Andrea (Brian) Whiteley and Carrie (Eric) Laspe; 21 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Eaton Church of the Brethren, 813 Camden Road, Eaton, OH. Burial will be at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the church. Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton is assisting with arrangements.
