Robert Louis Livezey, 97 of West Alexandria, OH., passed away November 4, 2017 at Vancrest Nursing Home in Eaton, OH. Born in Grinnell, IA in 1919, he was the son of the late James and Jennie (Slaven) Livezey. In 1940 he married Glema (Tish) Livezey and had 5 children. After her death in 1991, he married Judy (Trythrall) Livezey in 1993, who passed in 2007. He was also preceded in death by son Terrell (Kathy) Livezey; son-in-law’s Ronald Ross and Charles Cook Jr; brother Leonard (Ruth) Livezey; sisters Gertrude (Dick) Higdon, Edith Overholser and Alice (Dick) Morgan; brother-in-law Bob Worden; grandchildren Joanne and James Livezey.
Robert joined the Navy and served aboard the destroyer USS English during WWII. Finding his calling working with radar, he worked for the Civil Aeronautics Association (CAA), which became the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) until retiring in 1971 as an electrical engineer. Continuing his education in 1973, he graduated from the Mid-America Nazarene College in Olathe KS. While there he owned and ran a Kubota Dealership. In 2012 he moved to West Alexandria OH. Always busy, he liked to tinker with mechanical and electrical items and vehicles. Travel was a big joy for him, especially the annual USS English reunions. In his later years he liked to play dominoes, work on Sudoku, and word puzzles.
He is survived by brother Walter (Pat) Livezey; sister Thelma Worden; sons Dennis (Sharon) Livezey and Charles Livezey; daughters Anne Livezey and Betty (David) Bell. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. His ashes will be buried next to Glema (his wife of 51 years) at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Olathe, KS on September 21, 2018.
