Robert R. Taylor

Robert R. Taylor, age 84, of Eaton, OH passed away Friday, August 24, 2018 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. He was born December 5, 1933 in Eaton to the late James W. and Hattie (Spangler) Taylor. He was a member of the Eaton Church of the Brethren and the Bolivar Masonic Lodge #82 F&AM in Eaton. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife Helen Marie Taylor; brothers Harold, Don and Jim Taylor; and sisters Allena Myers and Maxine Gray. He is survived by his wife Carole Ann Newman Taylor of Eaton; daughters: Julie Ann (John) Bagby of New Madison, OH and Kathy (Jim) Overbey of Eaton, OH; grandsons: Robert Bagby, Kenny (Rebekah) Overbey, Keith (Kristy) Overbey, Josh Newman, Nick Newman; granddaughters; Abigail Bagby, Taylor Newman, Erin (Jimmy) Roesch, Kari McCardle; and great grandchildren: Caden Overbey and Mallory Rogers; stepchildren: Eric S. (Carrie) Newman and Paula (Jeff) McCardle; brother John (Ruth) Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 6-8pm, and Saturday September 1, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of funeral services at 11:00am at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Stan Van Ausdal officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Eaton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Bolivar Masonic Lodge #82 or to American Parkinson Disease Association.
