Robert Watt, age 79, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 11, 2021, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Bob retired from Parker Hannifin Corporation after more than 47 years. He was a proud Veteran of the Ohio Army National Guard. He served for over 38 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. Bob and his two sons all served in Desert Storm together. He was always so proud of his boys. The last several years, Bob was a part-time driver for Larkin-Cobb Chevrolet in Eaton. He absolutely loved that job, especially when he had the chance to drive a Corvette. He was a member of Gospel Light Baptist church, where he served as deacon and usher. He loved his church. Until his illness, Bob was very active. He was always more than willing to help out a friend or neighbor. He loved to bowl, and was good at it. He took great pride in taking care of his home. He kept the yard and flower beds immaculate. At Christmas time, he made the yard a show place, decorating with thousands of lights. Too many to count, he always said. Leaving behind to cherish his memory are Janice, his wife of 57 years, two sons, Jeff (Megan) of Liberty, Missouri and Brian (Amy) of Brookville, Ohio. Four beloved grandchildren; Jessica and Rob of Liberty, Missouri, and Andrew and Emma of Brookville, Ohio. Three sisters, one brother, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special niece, Terri Kraft of New Lebanon, Ohio, and special nephew, Dan Harrison of Clovis, California. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main St., Eaton, Ohio with Pastor Ben Myers officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. Contributions in Bob’s memory can be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church, PO Box 175, Eaton, Ohio 45320, or the Preble County Council on Aging, 800 East St. Clair Street, Eaton, Ohio 45320. Bob always liked to tell everyone he met, “Have a great day, and remember, God loves you!” Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family by visiting
