Roy A. Koontz, age 83, of Eldorado, OH passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at his residence. He was born December 31, 1937 at home, near Lewisburg, OH to the late William and Catherine Koontz. He was a 1955 graduate of Monroe High School. He retired from the Preble County Engineer's Office. He was a member of the Eaton Church of the Brethren and most recently the Castine Church. He served on the Pork Festival Board for 16 years and worked the South Gate during the Preble County Fair for over 20 years. He and Donna enjoyed traveling, playing cards and attending grandchildren’s sporting events. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Donna Koontz of Eldorado; sister Sarah Koontz of Eldorado; daughter Sherry (David) Campbell of East Lansing, MI; daughter Wendy (Roger) Patrick of Eaton; son Ed Koontz of Eldorado; daughter Deanna (Travis) Call of New Madison; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021 from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Gary Cloyd officiating. Burial will follow at Preble Memory Gardens, West Alexandria, OH.
