Roy Allen Spencer

Roy Allen Spencer, age 78, of Eaton, OH passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Maple Gardens Nursing and Rehab Center in Eaton. He was born November 28, 1946 in Eaton, OH to the late Sheridan and Sinda (Fields) Spencer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Alvin (Mary Anna) Spencer and Myrl Spencer both of Eaton; and sister Norma (Ralph) Drew of Trotwood. He is survived by his wife Diana Rhoades Spencer whom he married in February of 1971; son Toby Allen Spencer of Hamilton; brothers Rev. Lowell (Carol) Spencer and Stanley (Helen) Spencer both of Eaton; sister Glenda (Bob) Davidson of North Carolina, Thanna (Gary) Elfner of Tennessee and Pam Spencer of Virginia; sister-in-law Carol Lee Spencer of Eaton; and many nieces and nephews. Roy Graduated from Eaton High School in 1964, where he played football and ran track. He attended Miami University and did student teaching at Eaton High School in Industrial Arts. His working career included various years at Wolohan Lumber in Dayton, Leatherman Company and Wilson Hardware in Eaton. He was a member of the Preble County Board of Elections for 42 years and was treasurer of the Preble County Democratic Party also for 42 years. He was an avid Miami Redskins fan and followed all collegiate sports. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025 from 1:00 pm until time of funeral service at 3:00 pm at Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 W.
