Sara E. Parks

Sara E. Parks, age 99, of West Manchester, OH, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the Greenbriar Nursing Center, Eaton, OH. She was born October 4, 1914 in Montgomery County to the late Ezra and Ruby (Duke) Seibel. She was a member of the West Manchester United Church of Christ; member of the church Womens Fellowship and served as the church clerk. She served on the Preble County Election Board for many years. In her younger years, Sara worked as a registered nurse at Reid Hospital in Richmond, and later worked as a private nurse and for the Preble County Health District. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman D. Peanut Parks, who passed away April 20, 2003; brothers John, Ezra, Roy, Merlin and Charles Seibel; and sisters Enda Lux, Irene Eikenberry and Muriel Walker. She is survived by her sons James (Joanne) Parks of Eaton, OH, Richard (Peggy) Parks of Eaton, OH and Ted (Barbara) Parks of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren Anita Hoying, Deanna Parks, Christy Cassel, Suzie Davis, Sara Moorehead and Andrew Parks; great grandchildren Joshua Hoying, Megan Hoying, Austin Cassel, Madison Cassel, Brady Davis and Trevor Davis; sisters Lois Seibel of Brookville, OH and Thelma Jean Clark of Dayton, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 7, 2013 from 9:00 am until time of funeral services at 11:00 am at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor David Ireton officiating.
