Scendra Ann Back

Scendra Ann Back, age 78, of Gratis, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Hawthorne Glen Senior Living Center in Middletown.  She was born April 22, 1944 in Middletown to the late Estil Felix and Florence Gretchen Duncan.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Felix Duncan, Brad Duncan and Henry Duncan; and infant sister Violet Duncan.  She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Waldean Back; daughter Barbara Cassity; daughter Florence (John) Walker; son Jason (Jennifer) Back; son Harold Back; son James (Bernie) Back; grandchildren: Ashley Streck, Brittany Lamb, Brooke Walker, Brandy Purcell, Josh Back, Jason Back, Madison Back, Taylor Back, Farrah Marshall, Ashley Busby, Shana Back and Angel Gardner; numerous great grandchildren; sisters Kathy Haag and Charlotte Jones; brothers Danny Duncan and Arnie Duncan; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 12 noon at Gard Funeral Home (formerly Lindloff-Zimmerman), 113 Ada Doty Street, Gratis, OH with Pastor Sammy Reed officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairmound Cemetery in West Elkton.  Online condolences and other remembrances may be sent to www.gardfuneralhome.com
