Sherry E. Bell, age 88, of Eaton, OH passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at Hospice of Dayton after a short illness. She was born September 22, 1935 in Preble County to the late Elmer and Effa (McDivitt) Grimme. Sherry was a 1953 graduate of Dixon High School, Israel Township. She attended the Eaton Community Church and was a member of the Rachel Rebekah Lodge #144; was a former 4-H Leader; and member of the Preble County Twins Club. Sherry retired after 22 years from the American Red Cross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David Bell; son Brian Bell and infant son Brent Bell; daughter Cindy Flory; infant grandson James David “Jaime” Flory; brother Elden Grimme. She is survived by her son Bruce Bell of Eaton, OH; two grandsons Joshua Lakes of South Carolina and Richard Benge of Missouri; step grandchildren Jason Flory of Sidney, OH and Jennifer Flory-Morrissey of Arab, Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of special friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 11:00 am until time of memorial service at 12:00 noon at the Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Dan Denlinger and Pastor George Glaze officiating. Interment will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. In lieu of flowers, simply please perform an act of kindness toward someone else in Sherry’s memory.
