Thelma Louise Landes

Thelma Louise (Filbrun) Landes, daughter of Floyd and Mary Filbrun, was born on December 18, 1932, near Dayton, Ohio. Mother peacefully passed from time to eternity at home on June 20, 2024, making her sojourn 91 years, 6 months and 2 days. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Landes on June 17, 1951, at her home. This union was blessed with 4 sons and 3 daughters. Daddy and Mother were baptized on August 15, 1951, into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, to which she remained faithful until death. In August 1954 they were called to the ministry in the Prices Creek district, serving the Lord together for 66 years until Daddy's passing on May 14, 2021. Mother was an energetic homemaker as she lovingly cared for her family. Mother was blessed with good health most of her life. She willingly cared for her Daddy and Mother in their sunset years. Mother is survived by her children; daughter Donna (James) Oyler of Delphi, IN, son Wayne (Carolyn) of New Madison, OH, daughter Sylvia (Joe) Yoder of West Manchester, OH, son Gary (Lisa) of Lewisburg, OH, twins Donald (Michelle) of Eldorado, OH, Ronald (Sarah) of Eldorado, OH and daughter Dianne (Terry) Bowman of Chambersburg, PA; 29 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Marlin Filbrun; sisters-in-law Virginia Filbrun, and Luella Knaus. Mother was preceded in death by her in-laws, Lee and Alma Landes; brothers Eldin Filbrun, and Norman Filbrun; sister-in-law Janice Filbrun; in-laws Norman and Pauline Flory; brother-in-law Donald Knaus; a grandson, Adam Landes; a great-grandson Jordan Metzger; a great granddaughter Katelyn Miller. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 24, 2024 at the Prices Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Eldorado, OH. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the church. Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, OH is assisting the family with arrangements.
