Theresa L. Lawson

Theresa L. Lawson, age 61 of New Paris, OH, passed away May 22, 2018. She was born in Dayton, OH on Oct. 1, 1956 to John and Grace Eason. She worked for Miami University as a Building Supervisor and Chef for several years, accomplishing many goals as both a manager, student, and Alumna. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Garvin Lawson, New Paris, OH; son Jason (Heather) Lawson, Laura, OH; daughter Sarah Lawson; five grandchildren: Amanda, Jacob, Eliana, Annalise, Adalynn Lawson; sister Virginia “Gayle” Hines, Ravenel, SC; brother, Jerry Eason, Richmond, IN; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, David and William Eason. Visitation will be held for Mrs. Lawson on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, OH. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Andrew Stensaas officiating. Theresa was a natural leader, Christian, and a believer in the good in everyone. She found incredible joy in life, especially the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She loved watching her family grow both in numbers, spiritually, and educationally. Her smile and warm welcome made even the hardest person soft. She was an amazing chef and often shocked people with her creativity and flavorful goodies. She and granddaughter Amanda actually had their own cottage business in Quirky Cakes . A business some folks still talk about today locally and as far away as Georgia. Theresa’s love for her family was indescribable…and it is felt even now that she has left our side to go to heaven.
