Thomas E. "Tombo" Rhoades

Thomas E. “Tombo” Rhoades Jr, age 70, of West Alexandria, OH passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, OH. He was born on August 18, 1954 in Richmond, IN to the late Thomas E. Sr and Delores Rhoades. Tombo loved his 1970 Monte Carlo that he restored and enjoyed entering in numerous car shows; was an avid NASCAR fan; and was a good cook who made the best pies and “mush’ for his family. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and uncle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorey L. Rhoades; son Thomas E. Rhoades III; sister Linda Powell; and infant sister Lori Rhoades. He is survived by his daughter, Christina E. Smith and grandchildren Bridget Rhoades (fiancé Trey Turner), Brooklyn Rhoades, Robert Smith III, Ryann Smith and great grandchildren Arianna Spencer, Weston Stewart, Tegan Turner and Kira Turner; step children Ashley (Steve) Sullivan, Candice (Justin) Nickell, Jeff (Brandi) Evans and numerous other grandchildren; sisters Pamela Hines, Carolyn Davenport, Diana L. Spencer, Janet (Gary) Booher, Joyce (Jake) Hayslett, Penny Urban; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend Diana Parker Spencer; and beloved dog Lucy. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, West Alexandria is assisting with arrangements.
