Troy Scott Maxel, age 56, of Eaton, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton. He was born July 10, 1967 in Dayton, OH. Troy was a 1985 graduate of National Trail High School; ministered to our local community through Dale’s Teen Cafe and Food 4 Families both in Preble County; and was also a minister at the Spirit and Truth Center in West Alexandria. He worked at Navistar Manufacturing in Springfield; owned ABC Transport; and later worked at E.M.T. Inc. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and shared his lifelong interest with motocross with his sons; was the President of Preble Metropolitan Housing Authority; was the founder of Preble Patriots (P2); and was a member of the Lakengren Dragons. He was preceded in death by his father James A. Maxel; brother Todd S. Maxel; paternal grandparents Ervin C. and Norma J. Maxel; maternal grandparents Franklin A. and Lillian E. Yost; uncles Franklin A. Yost, Jr., Todd O. Yost and Russell H. Robert; and aunt Diane K. Maxel. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Jessica Maxel; sons Tom S. (Courtney) Maxel, Tyler S. (Angie) Maxel and Tanner S. Maxel; grandchildren Macie C., Leanna E.K., Trey S. and Trevor S.; mother and stepfather Dianna and Robert Thomas; sisters Gina Yost and Sheri (Rodney) Reynolds; step sister DeLena Reed; step brothers Don (Aimee) Thomas, Brian (Angie) Thomas and Bobby Thomas; aunt Melanie Robert; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 11:00 am until time of memorial service at 12:00 noon at the Covenant of Peace Church, 4745 U.S Route 127 N, Eaton, OH.
