Vanessa Jean Bailey, age 56, of Eaton, OH passed away Friday, May 28, 2021 near Brookville, IN as the result of a motor vehicle accident. She was born April 15, 1965 in Dayton, OH to Charles and Myrtle Thompson. She graduated from Dixie High School in 1983 and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Wright State University with a degree in psychology. She worked in social work for the last 30 years and spent the last seven years working for the Recovery and Wellness as a substance abuse and mental health therapist. She was devout Christian and attended regularly and served at the Christian Life Center in Dayton. She is survived by her husband of four years, Ronald L. Bailey of Eaton; parents Charles A. and Myrtle Thompson of Crab Orchard, KY; daughter Rachael (Andrew) Young of Vandalia, OH; sons Kenneth (Tessa) Howe of Dayton, OH and Connor Howe of Xenia, OH; grandsons Aaron Young and Nathan Young both of Vandalia, OH; brother Charles R. Thompson of Kentucky; sisters Valerie Thompson of Somerset, KY and Beverly (Ron) Rohrer of Kiawah Island, South Carolina; stepchildren: Heather McKee of West Alexandria, OH, Ronald R. (Leanne) Bailey of Eaton, OH and Savannah Bailey of Dayton, OH; step-grandchildren: Connor, Owen, Valyn, Jack, Audrey and Jameson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, OH. Burial will be at Trissel Cemetery in New Lebanon, OH.
