Violet J. Farmer, age 97, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Reid Health in Richmond, IN. She was born April 24, 1927 in Eaton to the late Everett and Pearl (Brandly) Campbell. Violet was a member of the Ohio Corn Husking Association and member of the Circus Fans of America. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening; and was an excellent cook. Violet spent many years working on the farm with her husband Bill and raising Percheron Draft Horses; and was a large supporter of her family in all of their activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Farmer; sister Mary Straw; brothers Lawrence Campbell and Elwood Campbell; and son-in-law Darrell Burnside. She is survived by her daughters Teresa Ann (Wayne) Light of New Madison and Juanita Burnside (Paul Brehm) of Eaton; grandchildren Sarah (Kirt) Drew, Michael Light, David (Abby) Light, Michelle (Jamie) Paul and Crystal (T.J.) Lawson; great grandchildren Luke Drew, Alexa Light, Aubrey Light, Austin Light, Aiden Light, Holly (Grant) Killen, Madison Lawson and Miranda Lawson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH. Funeral service for Violet will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at State Line Cemetery.
