Virginia Lucille Koontz

Virginia Lucille (Horn) Koontz, age 91, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Vancrest Health Care Center, Eaton, OH. Virginia was born July 6, 1920, in Eaton, Ohio, to George and Fern (Shaffer) Horn. The oldest of nine children, Virginia is survived by one sister, Flora Burrows, of Eaton, Ohio. Virginia was married on December 16, 1938 to Harold Harrison (Ted) Koontz, who passed away on April 29, 2007. Virginia is survived by two sons: Keith C. Koontz (Velma) of Fairbanks, Alaska and Robert G. Koontz (Darlene) of West Florence, Ohio. She also leaves six grandchildren: George Koontz; Cindy Koontz (Delton) Hubbard; Layli Koontz Pietri; Colleen Koontz (Michael) Wooden; Krista Koontz (Todd) Davis and Steven M. Koontz; three step grandchildren, David Flory, Paula Lambert and Daniel (Melissa) Flory, twenty five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home with Rev. Lowell Spencer presiding. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, West Alexandria. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon until time of funeral services at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
