Warren "Rudy" Rutan

Warren A. “Rudy” Rutan, age 73, of Eaton, OH and formerly of Akron, OH, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012. He was born May 8, 1938 in Summitt County, OH to the late Walter and Margaret Rutan. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran; he was a retired letter carrier; a member of the American Legion Post #619 North Hill; and a member of the Masonic Lodge, Akron, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Crystall Rutan, who passed away in 1988; brothers Albert, James and Carol Rutan; sister Ruth Jones; and special four legged companion Tucker. He is survived by his wife Sally A. Rutan of Eaton, OH; daughters Candice (George) Strietz of Eaton, OH and Tina Rutan of Tallmadge, OH; grandchildren Christina Adkins, Rebecca Adkins, Tony Baker, Kimberly Adkins, Jamie Benner, Allison Baker, Alex Baker, Jordan Tanderich and Michael Strietz; 5 great grandchildren; sisters Beulah Milliken and Doris Seckle; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends L.T. Thomas, Barney Moore and many others. Rudy is now re-united with his very best friend and brother Jim Rutan and life-long friend Tommy Gardner. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 12:00 noon on Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 Canton Road, Akron, OH. Burial will be in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #566.
