William David Chasteen

William David Chasteen was born on September 17, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio. He was the son of the late Glenn Howard Chasteen, Sr. and DuLayne Hatch Chasteen and Nokie Myers (mom). He was united in marriage to his loving wife of 42 years, Rachel King Chasteen of Lily, Kentucky. He is also survived by three children, Kristina Anders and husband Nicholas of Corbin, Kentucky; William David Chasteen III and wife Shayna of Wesley Chapel, Florida; Frances Clark and husband Bill of Englewood, Ohio; four siblings, Mary Ellen Lakes and husband Jay of Lewisburg, Ohio; Jimmy Joe Chasteen of Dayton, Ohio; Joyce Miller and husband Mark of Fairhaven, Ohio; Lori Jo Layton and husband Donnie of Lakengren, Ohio; five grandchildren, Chloe, Ella, Titus, Hunter and Kingsley plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Glenn H. Chasteen Jr., Shane Allen Chasteen and Debra Kay Chasteen.

William took great pride in being a papaw and loved his grandchildren dearly. He was a veteran of the United States Army and of the Christian Faith. He was also a 40 year ASE certified Auto Technician. 

William David Chasteen departed this life on Friday, June 28, 2024 being 64 years, 9 months and 11 days of age. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5 ,2024 from 1:00 pm until time of funeral service at 2:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 113 Ada Doty Street, Gratis, OH with Bryon Gevedon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Gratis. 

The family will also receive friends from 6-7 pm Wednesday at Bowling Funeral Home in London, KY.
