Wilma R. Shaw

Wilma Roberts Shaw, age 92, of Eaton, OH, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Greenbriar Nursing Center. She was born in Israel Township to the late Daniel Herman and Alice Roberts. Wilma graduated from business college in Richmond, IN and worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for Swain Manufacturing. After marrying Harold in Fairhaven, they moved to West Elkton where they built a house together for their family. Wilma retired after many years as bookkeeper and teller at Twin Valley Bank in West Alexandria. She was a 60+ year member of the Salem Lutheran Church, West Alexandria. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold C. Shaw, who passed away on June 22, 1993. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Gwen and David Sailer of Tacoma, WA and Carolyn and Pat Lowry of Eaton; 3 grandchildren and their families; 9 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 10:00 am until time of funeral services at 11:00 am at the Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton with Rev. Brian Nunnally officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery near Morning Sun, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church or Dayton Hospice.
